In this article Maynard discusses globalization and the effect it has had on the fashion industry. Maynard references many other scholars and articles to provide a basis for the information provided in the article, that globalization in fashion has resulted in cheaper, but more homogenised clothing. The article focuses on the global impact, providing references to international instances of globalization. This article is useful as it supports our research in regards to globalization in fashion emerging in the 1970s, and provides a great context for globalization in fashion and the effects it has had on fashion. Maynard indicates that globalization and its effects on fashion are only going to become more prominent as we head into the 21st century. This article supplements our research very well, and is useful for looking further into globalization and its effects on the fashion industry.
